1422. δύσκολος δύσ-κολος, ον [opp. to εὔκολος] [Deriv. of -κολος uncertain.] I. of persons, properly, hard to satisfy with food; then, generally, hard to please, discontented, fretful, peevish, Eur., Ar., etc.:—adv., δυσκόλως ἔχειν, διακεῖσθαι to be peevish, Plat.
II. of things, troublesome, harassing, id=Plat.; generally, unpleasant, Dem.:— δύσκολόν ἐστι it is difficult, NTest.:—adv. -λως, hardly, with difficulty, id=NTest.
