4104. πιστόω πιστόω, [πιστός] I. to make trustworthy, πιστοῦν τινα ὅρκοις to bind him by oaths, Thuc.
II. Pass. to be made trustworthy, give a pledge or warrant, ὅρκῳ πιστωθῆναί τινι to bind oneself to another by oath, Od.
2. to feel trust or confidence, i. e. to trust, to be persuaded, πιστωθῆναι ἐνὶ θυμῷ id=Od.; πιστωθεὶς ὅτι . . , feeling confidence that . . , Soph.
