4496. ῥίπτω I. to throw, cast, hurl, Hom., etc.; ῥ. χθονί to throw on the ground, Soph.:— to cast a net, Pass., ἔρριπται ὁ βόλος the cast has been made, Orac. ap. Hdt.:— to throw or toss about, πλοκάμους Eur.
II. to cast out of house or land, Soph.:— Pass., μὴ ῥιφθῶ κυσίν id=Soph.
