ACCIPITRES

‖Ac‐cip″i‐tres (�), n. pl. [] (Zoöl.) The order that includes rapacious birds. They have a hooked bill, and sharp, strongly curved talons. There are three families, represented by the vultures, the falcons or hawks, and the owls.
