ADEPT', noun [Latin adeptus, obtained, from adipiscor.]One fully skilled or well versed in any art. The term is borrowed from the Alchimists, who applied it to one who pretended to have found the philosopher's stone, or the panacea.ADEPT', adjective Well skilled; completely versed or acquainted with.
