{ Den″tate (dĕn″tā̍t), Den″ta‐ted (–tā̍‐tĕd), } a. [[L. dentatus, fr. dens, dentis, tooth.]] 1. 1. (Bot.) Toothed; especially, with the teeth projecting straight out, not pointed either forward or backward; as, a dentate leaf.
