‖Ep″a‐cris (ĕp″ȧ‐krĭs), n. [[NL., from Gr. ἔπακροσ pointed at the end. So called in allusion to the sharply pointed leaves.]] (Bot.) A genus of shrubs, natives of Australia, New Zealand, etc., having pretty white, red, or purple blossoms, and much resembling heaths.
