HOLOCEPHALI

‖Hol′o‐ceph″a‐li (?), n. pl. [[NL., from Gr. ὅλοσ whole + κεφαλή head.]] (Zoöl.) An order of elasmobranch fishes, including, among living species, only the chimæras; — called also Holocephala. See Chimæra; also Illustration in Appendix.
