Hy‐per″me‐ter (?), n. [[Gr. � beyond all measure; υπἕρ over, beyond + � measure: cf. F. hypermètre.]] 1. 1. (Pros.) A verse which has a redundant syllable or foot; a hypercatalectic verse.
2. 2. Hence, anything exceeding the ordinary standard.
