LITERATOR

Lit″er‐a′tor (lĭt″ẽr‐ā′tẽr), n. [[L. litterator, literator. See Letter.]] 1. 1. One who teaches the letters or elements of knowledge; a petty schoolmaster. Burke.
2. 2. A person devoted to the study of literary trifles, esp. trifles belonging to the literature of a former age.
