Mu′ci‐lag″i‐nous (?), a. [[Cf. F. mucilagineux. See Mucilage.]] 1. 1. Partaking of the nature of, or resembling, mucilage; moist, soft, and viscid; slimy; ropy; as, a mucilaginous liquid.
2. 2. Of, pertaining to, or secreting, mucilage; as, the mucilaginous glands.
3. 3. Soluble in water, but not in alcohol; yielding mucilage; as, mucilaginous gums or plants. — Mu′ci‐lag″i‐nous‐ness, n.
