‖Par′a‐se‐le″ne (?), n.; pl. Paraselenæ (#). [[NL., from Gr. παρά beside + σελήνη the moon: cf. F. parasélène.]] (Meteor.) A mock moon; an image of the moon which sometimes appears at the point of intersection of two lunar halos. Cf. Parhelion.
