Pat″ter (?), v. i. [imp. & p. p. Pattered (?); p. pr. & vb. n. Pattering.] [[Freq. of pat to strike gently.]] 1. 1. To strike with a quick succession of slight, sharp sounds; as, pattering rain or hail; pattering feet.
