Sel″e‐nite, n. [[L. selenites, Gr. ���� (sc. ���), from σελήνη the moon. So called from a fancied resemblance in luster or appearance to the moon.]] (Min.) A variety of gypsum, occuring in transparent crystals or crystalline masses.
