Snob (?), n. [[Icel. snāpr a dolt, impostor, charlatan. Cf. Snub.]] 1. 1. A vulgar person who affects to be better, richer, or more fashionable, than he really is; a vulgar upstart; one who apes his superiors. Thackeray.
