STENODERM

Sten″o‐derm (?), n. [[Gr. στενόσ narrow, little + -derm.]] (Zoöl.) Any species of bat belonging to the genus Stenoderma, native of the West Indies and South America. These bats have a short or rudimentary tail and a peculiarly shaped nose membrane.
