Suf‐flam″i‐nate (?), v. t. [[L. sufflaminatus, p. p. of sufflaminare to hold back by a clog, from sufflamen a clog.]] 1. 1. To retard the motion of, as a carriage, by preventing one or more of its wheels from revolving, either by means of a chain or otherwise.
