Triph″y‐lite (?), n. [[Pref. tri- + Gr. � a family, class. So called in allusion to its containing three phosphates.]] (Min.) A mineral of a grayish-green or bluish color, consisting of the phosphates of iron, manganese, and lithia. ☞ A salmon-colored or clove-brown variety containing but little iron is known as lithiophilite.
