‖Syn‐ap″ta (?), n. [[NL., fr. Gr. � fastened together; σύν with + � to fasten.]] (Zoöl.) A genus of slender, transparent holothurians which have delicate calcareous anchors attached to the dermal plates. See Illustration in Appendix.
