Israel, Covenant Nation

YHWH chose a people, not because they were the greatest (He says so explicitly) but because He is faithful to His word. From Abraham to the New Jerusalem, Israel is the spine of redemptive history.

YHWH's Covenant from Genesis to Revelation

The story of Israel is a covenant YHWH refused to break even when every human party did. Genesis 12: I will make you a great nation. Genesis 15: the smoking firepot and flaming torch pass between the pieces alone, YHWH binds Himself unilaterally. The kings fail. The prophets warn. The exile comes. And YHWH still says through Jeremiah: I have loved you with an everlasting love. The covenant was not contingent on Israel's faithfulness. It was contingent on YHWH's.

Seven Pillars of Israel's Story

The Church Grafted In

"If some of the branches have been broken off, and you, though a wild olive shoot, have been grafted in among the others and now share in the nourishing sap from the olive root, do not consider yourself to be superior to those other branches." (Romans 11:17-18)

The church does not replace Israel. It is grafted into the same root, the Abrahamic covenant. The study of Israel is not a detour from the gospel; it is the context without which the gospel is incomprehensible. Statement of faith summary: /beliefs.
